I hope this message finds you warm and well after the snow we’ve endured over the last few weeks. While the winter weather has us cozy inside, it’s been full steam ahead here at the Greater Westhampton Historical Museum as we prepare for a busy and exciting spring!

As our Winter Lecture Series has drawn to a close, we are eagerly turning our attention to the warmer days ahead. Thanks to the restoration work completed last year, the historic Governor Dix Windmill will be open for tours soon for the first time! Our team is putting the finishing touches on the very first brochure for the site, which will accompany tours of this iconic landmark on the Great Lawn in Westhampton Beach. We can’t wait to share this piece of history with you in a whole new way.

Speaking of the Great Lawn, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 30th! We are thrilled to announce that we already have 15 talented artisans of historic crafts signed up for our upcoming Americana Craft Fair. It promises to be a wonderful day of fun for the whole family, celebrating traditional crafts and American heritage.

Following that, please join us for our Opening Gala on Thursday, June 11th, at the beautiful Westhampton Yacht Squadron. This will be an elegant evening featuring unique auctions, fantastic prizes, and the chance to mingle with fellow history enthusiasts while celebrating another successful year. Tickets are available now through Zeffy; you can purchase them at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/annual-opening-gala.

You won’t want to miss this signature event! I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming 2026 programs. Here’s to the last gasp of winter and the promise of a fantastic spring!

Warmly, Gavin R. Fontanez
